Stephanie Bassler and Peter Reynolds have worked together for seven years, first as employees of Ashokan Architecture & Planning in Kingston, and now as co-founders of North River Architecture & Planning, PC. During this period of time they have collaborated on many significant projects, which you can learn about on the Projects page.
As Principal of NRAP, Stephanie will pursue projects with the common thread of sustainable design and community significance. As Senior Designer, Peter will exercise his considerable talent in the artistry and craft of building design, and in conceptual design and large-scale community planning.
Their design work respects the Hudson Valley's regional building styles and patterns, and complements those with modern design ideas, emerging building technologies, and sustainable practices.

Stephanie incorporated NRAP in 2009 after working in New York City for more than ten years, and in the Hudson Valley for five years. Prior to NRAP, Stephanie worked for Ashokan Architecture & Planning, where as Project Architect she guided a challenging, multi-structure fast-tracked college dormitory project through completion, and led design teams on numerous residential, commercial and master-planning projects. Before moving to the Hudson Valley, she had extensive experience in NYC, working on projects as varied as Mixon Hall at the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Palm Beach Opera House, the Blue Mountain Middle School, Rockland County Courthouse, and the Church and Friary of St. Francis of Assisi in New York. Stephanie is an expert in sustainable and green building design, with particular interest in the challenges of adaptive re-use of historic structures, and in emerging technologies for energy-efficient building construction. Stephanie received her Bachelor of Architecture from Rice University in 1994. She is licensed to practice architecture in the State of New York, is a LEED Accredited Professional, and is a Certified Passive House Designer.
Peter W. Reynolds

Peter has an extensive portfolio of building design, construction management and design-build expertise. As the primary designer for a number of Bard College projects, he has garnered widespread praise for the sensitivity, effectiveness and vigor of his designs. Working closely and carefully with contractors, engineers and owners, Peter has forged a deep and broad network of construction specialists in the Mid-Hudson region. First as founder of Reynolds Design Associates, then as co-founder and Senior Designer for Ashokan Architecture & Planning, and now with North River Architecture & Planning, Peter has produced distinguished residences and institutional projects throughout the New York region, including Manhattan, New England, California and Washington. Peter earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College in 1978.
